Well after the turmoil of my last post, I did it!!
The duffel bag and green backpacker back pack are my two checked bags, weighing at a total of 77 lbs! *happy dance* I actually managed to finish Friday night and my bags served as unusual decorations for my going away party! Well, only because after dragging them downstairs for a final weighing, I didn’t see a reason to drag them back upstairs, so there they sat!

Saturday night was my Going Away Party! It was a blast!! A bunch of people came, and it was great to see everyone one last time before heading on my journey.
Here are a few pics:
Front door sign and yummy yummy cake!
It is still very surreal that I will not see all those people for over 2 years. It doesn’t really feel like I’m leaving with how much my room is still my room, filled with my things, and everyone’s lives are moving on. But I know once I get there, time will fly and I will return and I’m sure everyone will be right where I left them! Maybe, lol.
Any hoo! Today I spent the day with my mommies and my little sissy! We went and got pedicures!
Let’s just say, it was heaven… I’m glad I got to have one more before I left and it was a great way to spend the day with the girls. I got “clear” tho cuz I don’t want chipped ugly nails in Africa! hahaha

Well, 2 days. Yup. Oh man…. I think a year from now it will still not feel real. I will wake up in my mud brick house, under my mosquito net with a cat on my face, to a breath taking Malawian sunrise and I will think, “This is not my life…”
And I can’t wait!

I am soooooooooooooo excited for you. This is a trip of a lifetime and I know you will be just great and have an awesome experience. I love, love, love you (you just can’t imagine how much)!!!!!!!!!! Grandma
Wow, that is awesome. Good luck with staging and the many hours of travel. Im sure you will love it – but I think I speak for lots of people when I say that I hope you still have internet so we can keep up with you!
Hi Ashleigh!
I am about to go through the packing craze! Can you tell me how many liters your green backpacker pack is? I am really thinking of getting on, but I dont want to go over the carry on limit. Do you think 60L is too big? Suggestions?
Thank you!
